Not much of a news story, but I just noticed a different favicon for Google in my browser. Is this new?

I just noticed the same thing. IDK if I like it or not. At least it's better then that plain lower-case “g” that was supposed to represent infinity. They changed that one back in May of last year.

And it looks disgusting, an incomprehensible blob. There should be a way to block that damn thing.

It's a pretty cool little icon…it took me a while to notice. Its sort of like the chrome logo.

Frankly I hate it. The old one was so much better. Now it looks like every other favicon in my bookmarks – a lot of colors, not much of content (if you can talk about content in context of favicon).
