Twitter Ain’t Worth Anything Right Now

image Silicon Alley Insider argued that Twitter might be worth over a billion dollars in a year. Sure – and I might be worth over a billion dollars by the end of this year as well…

Let’s face it – Twitter hasn’t worked at all lately. Every time you want to log in, it kicks you back the Fail Whale, a white page, or if you are really lucky, your login page – just don’t expect the next page to load up.

More and more folks are moving away from Twitter over to Friendfeed now. Some people are still holding on, arguing that all their followers are worth oh so much to them… But those followers are worth absolutely nothing right now, because Twitter simply doesn’t work anymore.

I give Twitter another week or two – after that, I think it will have reached its point of no return…

I think you might be right. I love Twitter, but they if they can't keep it together I am going to have to give up. They've also messed with the API rate limit, now Twhirl updates less often, if I don't get rate limit exceeded.

[...] post from a really excellent blog (except for this particular post) says that Twitter has two more weeks before it reaches the point of no return. Two more weeks! In the world of people who use these services, no one, but no one knows about [...]

I noticed that many bloggers are talking big about Twitter these days. Everyone is on some rat race to get biggest numbers of followers by doing some contest, giveaways, etc. I'm not really active in Twitter or Frienfeed. I heard that Plurk is better than Twitter but the traffic of Twitter is a lot better. I prefer to stick with Twitter for now. How about you? Are you still active in Twitter?

Everyone uses twitter now, YES its the talk of the day now but I wonder how you can manage a twitter account with 50,000 followers. One would be lost in the middle of a conversation and I can see it go downhill in 2 years time. My 2 cents
