Judging from the rain outside here, it looks like I must have arrived back home…

First of all a big thanks to Corvida from SheGeeks for her great (dare I say awesomesauce) guest post while I was gone!

I just spend a little while reading up on what’s been going on in the blogosphere, but it looks like I didn’t miss too much.

I gather Twitter was down for a bit and FriendFeed picked up a lot of the slack - at least the discussions there are really (though I can’t quite figure out how to use the FF rooms in a really useful way just yet).

It was interesting to see though that a lot of the discussion around FF is still going around in the same circles (what about comments there? is that a good thing? bad? etc.).

Of course there is lots of speculation about the 3G iPhone - that was pretty much to be expected, I guess.I’m not holding my breath for anything very spectacular here, but I have been waiting for the new generation to buy my own, so I hope it will be available right after the keynote :)

Some more random thoughts:

The whole Microsoft search cashback thing seemed a bit overblown.

I was quite amused about TechCrunch removing Seemsic commenting from the site (even if only for a short period)  - nobody is leaving video comments anyway, so if Arrington hadn’t written about it, chances are, nobody would have noticed.

I just upgraded to the latest Firefox 3 version - I like a lot of the little interface design changes they made.

What’s next?

During my short stay at home last week, I wondered aloud about what to do next with the blog. You will probably see a bit of a redesign in the next few weeks, but otherwise, I think everything will stay very much the same. However, while I was gone, I came up with a new blogging project I will hopefully get off the ground this weekend. I will be tech oriented, but with a very specific angle, combining some of my secondary interests into one (more or less) coherent mess blog. More about that next week.
