QS9USER: I don’t think we’ve lost all cred. Yeah, we post rumors, but I can’t remember any that we just got completely wrong. Facebook Chat is a good example of one we nailed.

I agree that ranking bloggers in some way is silly, but that TechMeme, after many years of tech, is pretty damned good at calling the stories that everyone is interested in. So I do think that seeing how good authors are at getting stories onto TechMeme is a compelling story itself. It’s not efficient, I agree, but it’s interesting to check out.

TechCrunch has lost all creditability in my book . This started with all the rumors that fly off that site.

I agree about all the bloggers creating backlinks to this posting, but who is to say we will link (perhaps we will just write ) eh ?

In any event, as an author to a news room I offer advice , just be careful.

In this scam they might be looking for backlinks to get a higher PR from Google. Did you think of this ?

I do not recognize any site that can efficiently rank Tech Bloggers / Sites. It is better to write about them than to rank them.

Good idea on the # of headlines/post. I’ll see if I can do that. Louis: for some reason, my data doesn’t have you as an ‘author’ of posts from louisgray.com (sadly the author in my db is listed as ‘NULL’), so it’s not in my rough list. But I do see 19 TechMeme headlines from you since 01-01-2008.

Alright, name dropper… I’m also interested to the methodology. Looks to me like I have at least 17 in the same time period, yet, didn’t make the cut (which was 13). Who knows?
