The Last Podcast joins the Grand Effect Blog Network
Sarah Perez invited me to join the Grand Effect blog network a few days ago and as you can see from the banner flying on the top of the page, I accepted her invitation.
Grand Effect is a small tech blog network that Sarah recently founded with the help David Peralty of eXtra For Every Publisher.
Why did I decide to join Grand Effect?
First of all, this is a small network of bloggers that I respect: Sarah Perez of Sarah in Tampa, ReadWriteWeb and Microsoft’s Channel 10; co-founder David Peralty of eXtra For Every Publisher; Corvida from SheGeeks.net; Martin Brinkmann from gHacks, and MG Siegler from ParisLemon.
I think individual bloggers today are best served if they are part of a network – formal or informal. My informal networks is the l33t reddit gang, my formal network is Grand Effect.
Because Sarah is committed to keeping the network small and the quality of the sites high, this is really a win-win situation for everybody involved.
What does this mean for the Last Podcast?
I have always fiercely guarded my independence and that was my #1 concern about joining any formal network. Grand Effect does not put any constraints on what I can write and talk about, so I feel very confident about joining Grand Effect.
In the long run, Grand Effect might start selling advertising and you might see the Adsense ads on this page replaced by other ads.
The only noticeable change for the time being is the network bar on the top of the page.
Thank you Sarah for inviting me to the network and I’m looking forward to working with all the great bloggers Grand Effect bloggers in the future!
