However, in your column you do say:

and:

The release of iPhone 2.0 is over three months away, but I’ll stick my neck out and make a prediction: it will be a gigantic success.

That sounds quite loving to me.

However, I know you are not an Apple fanboi, but my “x x thoughts” pieces are usually a bit tongue-in-cheek. Didn’t want to offend you.

That remark is objectionable for two reasons. First, the new iPhone software doesn’t even exist yet, so how could I know if I love it or not?

My column is a reaction to Apple *opening up* the iPhone to software written by OTHER PEOPLE (not Apple). And that won’t happen until June.

Second, you make it sound as though I give Apple a free ride, and that’s just not true. I always ding Apple where it’s deserved. Here are 40 examples to get you started:
