Back in Town

Looks like I didn’t miss much during my trip over the extended weekend.

Apparently there was some bickering about a bad interview at SXSW, a rather lame new site (that isn’t even new) that shows RSS feeds, new browser betas, and the usual totally unsubstantiated rumors about Digg getting acquired by somebody.

Some cool things happened, though:

LinkRiver now has an ‘attention’ feature.

You can play Guitar Hero on your old C64.

The iPhone SDK looks a lot more interesting than I expected.

Both MS’s FolderShare and Dropbox look like they are very well implemented new products that are going to make my life easier. So is the Office Live Workspace. (Thanks to Steven Hodson and Tony Hung for pointing me to these/inviting me to the beta)

FriendFeed, my favorite new web service of the year so far, is a lot fast now, thanks to some backend wizardry. Clearly, they don’t have much to fear from the competition.

And that’s about it, I think. Looks like there was a lot of partying at SXSW and not much news, which is good, because I went completely offline for most of those days. I think it helps me to keep some perspective on things…
