FriendFeed just keeps on innovating

Posted by Frederic On February - 7 - 2008

Friendfeed just added yet another function to its already pretty impressive lineup. Now you can also post small messages directly on your Friendfeed - Twitter-style - that can be seen and commented on by your friends.

FriendFeed’s founders Bret Taylor, Jim Norris, Paul Buchheit and Sanjeev Singh are really on to something here. Within just a few weeks, Friendeed has become part of my daily online routine and these guys just keep adding new and useful functions every couple of days.

These days, it’s not unusual for me to first comment on an item at Friendfeed and only then on the blog itself. While I was skeptical about this at the beginning, the ability to just discuss something among your closer group of friends is actually very powerful.

This new feature, in many ways, goes head-to-head with Twitter, so it should be interesting to see how this gets used by the users.

Oh - and my FriendFeed is here.

Update: MG Siegler seems to have a very similar opinion about Friendfeed:

Definitely one of the best things about the young FriendFeed is how well and how quickly they respond to feedback from the community. That can only mean great things in their future.
