OT: I’m Back

Just FYI: I didn’t plan to be away for so long, but I only just now returned from a two week trip to Colombia (I know – not your standard tourist destination, especially the part of the country we went to).

I thought I was going to be able to put out a post or two a day while I was there, but the vacation feeling just took over, there were too many people to visit, and I guess I just needed to take a real break from it all.

I will be making some off-topic posts about the trip today as I read up on what happened in the last few weeks and regular blogging should start again tomorrow.

I was just wondering what happened to your Twitters! Did you see any FARC guerrillas while you were there? O_O

I’m kidding–I hope you had a good vacation!

I think the FARC was held back by the police patrols that were standing next to the highway every quarter mile…

But yeah – it’s a shame how such a beautiful country has been host to such a bloody and long conflict for so long. And at the same time its somewhat bizarre how you can live there and never even come close to dealing with the violence directly.
