MSNBC to allow embedding of its videos
December 23, 2007 |
I might have missed this before, but when I just went to check out some videos on MSNBC.com, it was given the option to embed the video on my blog. Very nice, but it doesn’t work just yet - it is coming ’soon.’
I think this is a very smart move by MSNBC. Instead of trying to guard all its content and keep it in the silo, they are going to dramatically increase their viewership by doing almost nothing.
As MSNBC is getting moved to the backchannels in some places by the likes of Comcast, moving more content online and making it easily available is simply a shrewd business move.
