Media Temple Does the Right Thing
I felt good when I switched my hosting from 1&1 to Media Temple about half a year ago after a disastrous encounter with 1&1’s non-existent and bafflingly stupid customer service (they took down my site for almost two weeks, redirecting traffic to 127.0.0.1 after one of the post on this blog was on the Digg homepage).
Since then, though, Media Temple had quite a few outages (if you follow my Twitter feed, you might have seen me comment on that a bit too frequently lately). It doesn’t bother me too much, because their customer service is very responsive and they do run a pretty good shop overall. Also, they keep you updated constantly on their blog when there is an outage.
Today, MT decided to do the right thing and gave all its users on the (gs) Grid Server 2 free months of service and announced it with a simple “We apologize:’
(mt) Media Temple would like to apologize to our (gs) Grid-Service customers for the series of issues relating to the (gs) system in the past few months. As an appreciation for your patience, we have applied 2 months free credit to your account. This credit has been issued automatically and is reflected in the billing area of your AccountCenter. We appreciate your continued business.
Makes me feel better to be a Media Temple customer.
