Good news for everybody who has hated TechCrunch’s internal links like I have: they are being discontinued as of today.

We started linking to CrunchBase often in our posts. This tends to drive some readers absolutely nuts because they want to go to the company, not CrunchBase, when they click a link. As of today that policy is being discontinued.

Good riddance is all I can say. Good to see that Michael Arrington and crew are listening to their readers (or might the announcement also have something to do with the demotion many blog networks saw from Google today?).

Instead of the links, TechCrunch will now feature a (somewhat large) widget at the end of every post that dynamically pulls all the info of every company discussed in the post from the database.

A smart solution and I hope others will follow suit. Sometimes pageviews aren’t everything.
