Google Got the IMAP

Posted by Frederic On October - 23 - 2007

Some pretty cool news tonight. Google Mail now does IMAP (it’s an option in your settings now).

If anything, this makes live easier for those who want a well synchronized online/offline experience. If anything, it means Google is ahead of the competition once again.

Personally, I am quite happy with the web interface and won’t use the IMAP option much, but I can see that this might be useful for a lot of people who need the more advanced features of Outlook, for example.

As usual with these things, Google is phasing it in slowly, so don’t feel bad if it doesn’t show in your account yet.
