Gabe - I was kidding about that comment. I just thought it was funny that you defended yourself against those arguments by saying you weren't my friend :)

Hah, you succeeded in making me feel bad about the "friend" comment (which was to support an unrelated point). Hey, let's be Facebook friends, and see where things go from there. :-)

Louis - I fully agree with you to some degree. I found your blog through TechMeme and subscribed to your feed.

That was when your post was a headline, though. I haven't been there myself, just in the bylines, so that might explain the difference.

I actually often get more readers from a TechCrunch trackback or comment than I get from TechMeme. TechMeme would usually bring me 20 visitors at best.

But you are right, its indeed not the numbers but the quality of readers and there, TechMeme wins over Digg. Getting a link from Scoble sure helps as well :)

Depends what "lots of traffic" means. It's certainly no Digg or StumbleUpon. But, in addition to Scoble's blog, I find TechMeme to be a great delivery mechanism for eventual sticky visitors who participate and sign up to RSS, and that's good enough for me.

I wrote about this last week:

Tech Blog Link Power: Spiky Visitors or Sticky Visitors?
