Microsoft in Talks with Facebook

So Microsoft is talking to Facebook about buying a stake in the company…
To me, it doesn’t really matter, as I will not join any of these networks until I can get my data in and out of their respective silos and take it with me to another service.
As for this deal then: While Facebook has no viable competitor yet, users will go where their friends are. There is no loyalty when it comes to social networks. Buyer beware!
Mathew Ingram asks if this news will get Yahoo! to get in on the action and bid for Facebook. Maybe they should - but the real kicker would be if Murdoch bought Facebook…
