I Was Going to Review Mint Today
September 19, 2007 |
However, the sudden onslaught of attention they got has brought a lot of the services on Mint to a standstill. Also, as of now, it doesn’t download the transactions from my most used credit card. Without that data, the service is useless to me.
And so, I will hold my final verdict until a later point.
One note, though: when I told my wife about Mint, the first thing she said was that she was worried about all that information ending up in one place. I wonder how much of an impact this will have on Mint’s growth.

Yeah, sorry about that. In the last 24 hours, we’ve had literally 10x the traffic spike anticipated…hundreds of thousands of people. We won TechCrunch40, and were featured in PCWorld, Digg, and San Francisco Chronicle all on the same day.
We’re bringing more servers online now (we had 16) and things should be running smoothly by tomorrow.
