Vista Service Pack Will Install XP
September 18, 2007 |
From BBSpot:
In response to customer demands Microsoft announced that instead of patching bugs and improving features of Windows Vista in the next service pack release, they would just install XP.
I know its all funny, but I have actually been using Vista on two PCs (one homebuild desktop, one laptop) and have absolutely no problems with it (though I use Linux as my main desktop because I am just that kind of geek). It took HP a while to get some drivers for my printer to me, but I can’t really fault Microsoft for that.
Every time I read that somebody is having such huge trouble with Vista, I look at my own machine chugging ahead nicely and wonder what the hell these people are doing. Compared to XP, the overall feel is just as fast (on the same overclocked dual-core machine running at 3.2ghz), yet the search functions, the updated file manager with the integrated previews, relatively easy customization etc. make me feel quite happy with Vista. Haven’t seen it crash yet, either.
