Apple and Its Vendors
Just read this piece by Scott Mortiz on TheStreet.com:
Last week’s price cut decision was so abrupt that Apple’s exclusive wireless partner, AT&T (T – Cramer’s Take – Stockpickr – Rating), learned of the changes during Job’s speech, say sources.
I am surprised by the fact that Mortiz is surprised. That’s exactly how Apple treats all the people in its ecosystem. Video-out on the new iPods isn’t working with your old hardware anymore? Bad luck.
Apple doesn’t tell even its closest allies what it is going to do next. And if it is true and Steve Jobs doesn’t like the cell-phone companies anyway, why would he treat them any different?
