According to the Inquirer, AMD will launch its new low-voltage Barcelona processor in Bejing, Bangalore, Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo, San Francisco and, of course, Barcelona.

I don’t hear a lot of people at Intel being very nervous about this. Intel’s new 45nm Penryn processor (the Barcelona is still a 65nm chip) is just heading into full production for a Q4 rollout. My guess is that most buyers will wait to see benchmarks for both processors before they will make any buying decisions and if Intel’s track-record for the last two years is anything to go by, you can see why they aren’t too nervous. I would guess that Intel will try to get some Penryns into the hands of testing labs pretty soon to counter AMDs marketing machine.
