(Via Problogger) A company called BuyBlogComments (no link for them) promises its clients to do some pretty cheap SEO by spamming people’s blog comments. It’s pretty cheap, with a heave volume discount (100 comments for 19.99 - 1000 comments for 199.99).

It’s, of course, a horrible idea, for both the clients and the blogosphere.

A, even though the company says that the ‘nofollow’ tag doesn’t work, I haven’t seem much evidence for that. Almost all blogs use the nofollow tag in their comment section to ward of spam already. But, of course, these guys are even smarter:

BUT! We try to not post comments on blogs with the nofollow tag on the sites. We have gathered a list of people who don’t support the nofollow tag, and some types of blogs that do not use the tag at all. So don’t worry, you will still be getting weight to your site.

I wonder how many quality blogs are left after doing that.

Now, the company uses quotes from JonWaraas.com (no link for him either) to validate how great their services are.

“Blog comments are the perfect way to get valid backlinks, on this website you can purchase them with ease..”

Jon Waraas - JonWaraas.Com

Looks like he is the guy who founded the company. Isn’t that brilliant? That advertise with testimonials from the founder. Tell you how sleazy the SEO world can be.

For a few more reasons why this service is a bad idea, see BlogStrom and the Search Engine Journal.
