Ryan Carrigg of Compete.com reports that Netflix’s Watch Now feature raced passed every other competitor’s offering and now, after a few months, has three times as many unique visitors per months than anybody else.

That really doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but it is good to see some real data for this. Just a quick man-on-the-street test would probably reveal that most people know of Netflix, but have never heard of Vongo, Cinemanow or Unbox. Then, of course, Netflix had the advantage of starting out with an enormous user base, while everybody else started from scratch (except for maybe Amazon’s Unbox, but I don’t think Amazon ever poured many marketing resources into this project).
