Safari on Windows Even Worse Than Expected
June 12, 2007 |
Techmeme this morning is bustling with bad news about Apple’s Safari browser on Windows.
Various people have not only found major bugs (which is expected from a beta), but also possibly exploitable bugs that could have major security ramifications.
Personally, I am not even so much concerned with the security issues right now, but with the fact that when I want to see a webpage in Safari, it takes for ever to open. I can open up Firefox, browse to GMail and log into my account in the time an already open Safari renders the login page. That’s just sad.
Also, I noticed Safari seems to install a lot of crud on the system. Do you really need Bonjour to browse the web?
More info on the security issues can be found at Zero Day.
