Just wondering: Who Still Uses ICQ?
March 22, 2007 |
This is a bit of a silly post, but I just noticed I got a referral to lastpodcast.net from icq.com. Now I don’t know about you, but ICQ to me is one of the dinosaurs of the net. So as my interest is peaked, I check out the stats on Alexa and Compete and ICQ.com is a very, very popular site.
Where does all this traffic come from? Who still uses ICQ?
Twitter, by the way, is about to surpass ICQ in the Alexa stats… whatever that means…

Came to your blog entry by accident while googling for something else, but: yeah, there are people who use ICQ (me) mostly because their friends use ICQ. The value is in that (social) network …
You are right - but given the fickleness of these social networks, I am surprised that these groups have not moved on to a different network.
