Is Twitter Always This Slow?
March 14, 2007 |
After hearing and reading about twitter ad nauseum, I decided to give it a spin today. But jeez, it takes forever for the homepage to load, let alone the sign-up page. Also, when I tried to sign up, the ‘are-you-human’ type a cryptic code from a picture verification didn’t display anything…
Maybe I will try again tomorrow…
Until then, Dave Winer is asking some interesting questions about Twitter.
I wonder what real application Twitter really has, though. For now, it seems like a good gimmick, but I am not sure I could keep up using it in the long term (once I get to use it). How often do you really want to update this thing? And givne the information clutter I already deal with, do I really need to know what my friends are doing 24/7?
