The Return of My.Netscape

March 6, 2007 |

Read/Write Web reports that my.netscape is being relaunched as a web 2.0 homepage.

Oh joy. Looking at the site, there is absolutely nothing there that makes it stand out form other (better) offerings such as Netvibes or Protopages. There isn’t even a build in RSS reader or any other useful features on the site that I can find.

Basically, the only content one can add is RSS feeds (but without a built-in reader, that’s not really that useful, but it will drive traffic to the AOL/Weblogs Inc. blogs). Other homepage offering at least offer calendars, flickr integration, Google Docs widgets etc. Netscape instead is a step back in time for those who have used other web 2.0 homepages.

At the end of the day, this is a pretty useless product.
