Google Maps Finally Shows Traffic
February 28, 2007 |
Nice to see Google playing catch-up with Yahoo and Microsoft sometimes. Google today announced that traffic data is now integrated into Google Maps. There is nothing very fancy about this, but the integration is very well done and the information is quite easy to read.
It’s just a shame that there isn’t a lot of information besides what seems to be traffic speed in a certain area. Other services will display the cause of the backup (accident, road work etc.). I would like to see more of that, but then simplicity is part of the Google design philosophy and has worked well for them.
