Google Reader Dominates
From most posts on Google Reader now reporting stats, it seems Google indeed has a winner in the market here. ProBlogger, for example, shows more subscribers from Google Reader than from Bloglines. Small Business SEM shows the same.
Same here. Since yesterday, Google Reader users make up the majority of RSS subscriptions.
This, to me, points out once again that when you offer a free product, you don’t get much loyalty from your users if something better comes around (assuming that most reader have switched from somewhere else and are not new to RSS). Google Reader is so far ahead of the curve that it’s no wonder people have switched in droves. I used to use FeedDemon religiously and hated all the online readers, but now, Google Reader is the way to go for me.
Now the question is going to become: when will Bloglines shut down?
