There seems to be some excitement building around a possible Zune Phone.
Wow - I am sooo excited. After the failure of the Zune and the hype around the Apple iPhone, what could be greater than a Zune Phone? Maybe it will have a crippled phone function where you can only talk to selected friends - maybe only friends approved by Universal Music?
Clearly Apple has not re-invented the phone, but all joking aside, a Zune Phone for half the price of the iPhone without draconic two-year commitments to one carrier could actually work well I think. But then, its still a Zune, even if it features WiMax and 4g phone technology, which is where the iPhone in its first generation at least, completely fails to overwhelm.
Who knows, maybe the Zune Phone is going to be the phone for real geeks. Wouldn’t that be funny?
