Anna Nicole Smith Died

So Anna Nicole Smith died and the news media have hardly anything else to talk about? Even the New York Times mentions it on the front page. Why do people care about this stuff?
Is this really the world we live in where the death of a former playmate best known for selling hoax products (=Trimspa) can push wars and famines out of the public arena?
Here is what Deby Marks of Grafton, West Virginia had to say: “What will I remember? Her sadness, innocence, and her beauty.” Wow - next thing she will be holier than Ronald Reagan.
Can someone please give me a break from this BSt?
