Chris Pirillo is having some problems with Vista. Of course, the things he complaints about are mostly incompatible software and drivers (HP drivers that are known not to work yet - my 1020 Laserjet is still waiting for a Vista driver). Maybe he should have done a bit more research before upgrading.
I “upgraded” my machine […]

Nice to see Google playing catch-up with Yahoo and Microsoft sometimes. Google today announced that traffic data is now integrated into Google Maps. There is nothing very fancy about this, but the integration is very well done and the information is quite easy to read.
It’s just a shame that there isn’t a lot of information […]

I am horrible at writing music reviews, so I won’t even attempt one, but seeing Jonathan Coulton live in a small pub/bar in Portland, singing Baby Got Back and Code Monkey has definitely been one of the most fun experiences of the year so far (for me at least - and my wife loved it […]

Not many updates in the last few days. Besides that I didn’t see much news I felt strongly about in the last few days, I have also been travelling (and, as usual, thanks to Continental’s President’s Club for not securing its WiFi!).
Yesterday was my lucky day, not only did I have a $150 round-trip ticket […]

Just keeping track… Still no answer from Technorati either. If JetBlue can get customer service right, shouldn’t a Web 2.0 company be able to match them on that front?

The Steve (the other one), has returned from a long blogging break and as much as I love hearing the man talk about attention, his latest take on forgetting his Yahoo ID and password was a bit lame, especially given the furiously great “Bad Sinatra” entry from a month or two back.
Now that’s only the […]

It’s been six days now since Technorati last indexed this site. I filled out a support request, but no answer so far…
How have we come to rely on such an unreliable service?

Google Reader Dominates
February 18, 2007 | 1 Comment
From most posts on Google Reader now reporting stats, it seems Google indeed has a winner in the market here. ProBlogger, for example, shows more subscribers from Google Reader than from Bloglines. Small Business SEM shows the same.
Same here. Since yesterday, Google Reader users make up the majority of RSS subscriptions.
This, to me, points […]

Just saw Doc Searls talking about Flightaware. Flightaware is a great tool for tracking flights (especially those in flight already). Whenever I sit at the airport, I will check on the progress of the plane coming in to whisk me off to the other side of the country (through this, I have found out that […]

My listing on Technorati hasn’t been updated for four days now, which is getting pretty frustrating. All my feeds validate and Technorati even shows that the blog was updated, but it doesn’t seem to index any of the new posts.
For a blog like this one here, technorati referrals are the second most important source of […]

I think Jason Calacanis has a good point: Digg didn’t invent digging.
I am not sure he is right in calling all diggers a “bunch of 12-year-old kids” so that it is best to ignore them (isn’t Jason trying to get enough money to send just those 12-year-old kids to private school?). The discussions on digg […]

A few weeks ago, I posted an item about a female soldier called Michelle Manhart who posed nude for Playboy as an experiment since my rant about Britney Spears drew quite some attention. I was trying to see how much traffic a post like that would drive from Technorati and other blog search engines.
I got […]

It’s going to be a very busy day, so there will be very few (if any) posts up today.
Just a few links to stories I would normally comment about:
SplashPress Media Acquires Performancing
Yahoo Clones DiggTed Stevens wants to ban Wikipedia from schools and libraries (what the hell is that guy smoking?)
DRM is taking a bigger hit […]
