Pogue on Office 2007

Insert Citation feature in Microsoft® Office Word 2007 (2007 Microsoft Office system)David Pogue takes a look at Office 2007 and I have to say I mostly agree with him. Here is one issue I take with his assesment (which is mostly positive), though:

In Office 2007, the only thing you can customize is something called the Quick Access Bar: a tiny row of unlabeled icons, awkwardly jammed in above or below the Ribbon.

I actually love the Quick Access Bar – I put the save function, footnote function, and a few others I use regularly up there. Instead of awkward placement, I think it is a pretty good use of space, especially when you like to increase your real-estate on the desktop by hiding the ribbon (CTRL-F1) and still would like access to the most used fuctions.
