Calacanis Heads off to Sequoia

December 5, 2006 |

Today is Jason Calacanis Day in the blogosphere. Not only did he do the keynote presentation/conversation at the SES conference in Chicago, he also got to announce that he will be taking the role of “Entrepreneur in Action” (EIA) at Sequoia Capital.

Sequoia is obviously flush with cash after the Google/YouTube deal, and Jason seems like a good guy to bet on. Or at least Sequoia thinks so.

Various bloggers have notes up from his keynote, but to be honest, if you have listened to the Gillmor Gang (if it was renamed Calacanis Gang, would anybody truly notice - Calacanis runs the show anyway) or his interview with PodTech, you have pretty much heard it all.

I give Jason that he was able to sell Weblogs Inc. for a good pot of money, but what is Sequoia expecting from him? The blogging market is rather saturated and the podcasting hardware device he has been dreaming up with Peter Rojas and Dave Winer sounds like a great idea - for those few people who listen to podcasts.

So Jason - what are you going to do?
