Scoble Asks If Diggnation Is Really a Success
September 29, 2006 |
Scoble:
Here’s a question I have. If you have a new technology product or service to launch, would you rather launch it on Diggnation or on the front of the business page of, say, USA Today?

The answer is pretty easy: it depends on the product. If diggnation has 250k viewers (and I am not sure if he counts those who listen to the audio version only in this list), then that’s a pretty good number. I would venture to guess that his ScobleShow doesn’t have those numbers and isn’t going to have them for a while.
Oh, and if Scoble actually watched (or listened to) diggnation, he would probably realize that this isn’t exactly the show to launch a product on. And for God’s sake - this is two guys drinking beer and talking about tech stuff - at least the guys are happy doing it and I am sure the sponsors are happy with their results, too. Not every fricking show has to be about product launches!
Also, as Kevin Anderson points out in the comments of the Scobelizer, MSNBC would probably be happy to take them, because their median viewership is around 350k - with a far wider reach than IPTV has.
