Free Dunkin Donuts Coffee from Yahoo
![]()
UPDATE: The DD promotion is indeed live now. There is no check for if you do or do not set Yahoo as your homepage, but you do have to log in with your Yahoo login and the coupon has your name on it. Also, it is only valid for today. Bummer – I was looking forward to free DD coffee all week. Oh, and it is also for iced coffee, not regular coffee.
Yahoo will give away a free cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee to those who will set their browser homepage to Yahoo.com on Friday.
Brilliant idea. Actually – after reading this, I went to the Yahoo homepage for the first time this year. Even though Yahoo has bought ‘cool’ Web 2.0 companies such as Flickr, I still somewhat regard them as the AOL of the 21st century. Google for dummies.
Inside Google did a pretty funny “what-if” on this:
- Week one: Yahoo offers free coffee
- Week two: Ask offers free Twinkies
- Week three: Microsoft offers free ketchup
- Week four: AOL offers free floppy disks (with limited success)
- Week five: Yahoo offers free DVD of some TV show episode
- Week six: Ask offers free volume one of a dictionary (following volumes cost money)
- Week seven: Microsoft offers free ketchup
- Week eight: AOL offers free rotary phone (with limited success)
- Week nine: Yahoo offers a chance to meet Tom Cruise
- Week ten: Ask offers a chance to lunch with Barry Diller
- Week eleven: Microsoft offers free ketchup
- Week twelve: AOL offers chance to win ten million dollars from Publishers Clearing House (with limited success)
- Week thirteen: Yahoo drops out of race, giggling, and whispering something about ketchup
- Week fourteen: Google offers to sell ad space on front page to any other search engine for $100 million a day
- Week fifteen: Microsoft offers Google ketchup
