Google Analytics Open For All
August 17, 2006 |
Google just removed the waitlist and opened up Google Analytics (formerly Urchin) for everyone.
According to Brett Crosby the Senior Manager of Google Analytics:
I’m happy to tell you that we’ve just removed the wait to receive a Google Analytics account. Now anyone with a website can instantly create one for free by simply by visiting google.com/analytics or by clicking on the “Analytics” tab within AdWords. After you create an account, we suggest reading the Installation Guide to get it set up quickly and correctly.
While Analytics is a great piece of software, I would consider installing a simpler counter for day-to-day statistics as well. Analytics is overkill for somebody who just has a blog and isn’t trying to track the effectiveness of his AdSense campaign.
