Mike Arrington Talks Edgeio

Posted by Frederic On February - 13 - 2006

Mike Arrington released some new information about Edgio today. If I get this right, it is going to be a search engine for classifieds posted on blogs. Great. Craigslist works because anybody can use it - you don’t need a blog. Anybody can post stuff quickly and easily.

The cost of entry into Edgeio is too high. Maybe it will catch on with bloggers. I guess bloggers have stuff to sell. And then other bloggers can buy it. So it’s a craigslist for bloggers. Well, good luck Mike.

Edgeio is all about edge publishing. It is our belief that services that try to restrict how users create and consume information cannot ultimately be successful. Users own their data, and services exist not to silo that data, but rather to add value to it. That is what Edgeio is setting out to do.

We will be focusing on classified listings of any type to start.
