MapMe for Skype
January 3, 2006 |
KhaosLabs announces MapMe for Skype. Well, they announced a closed beta for it. I would love to say that it looks like an interesting product, but I am not quite sure how functional this all is/ Here is what it does:
- calculate distances between your contacts,
- map incoming SkypeIn calls,
- find users in your area and much more.
Sounds like either a stalker’s heaven or a new, easy way to hook-up with the neighbor’s girl. I can think of some pretty adult uses for this but not much else… Oh, and it will only be functional in the US and Canada.
Anyway, here is an excerpt from the announcement:

In case you haven’t heard of me, my name’s Kevin Delaney. I’m the co-founder and head of project management at KhaosLabsMapMe for Skype logo and an occasional author over here at Skype Journal. I’m really excited to announce a new product that my team has been working on for the last little while. MapMe for Skype is a free plugin that connects your Skype contact list with technology from Google Maps.
