Ann Coulter at UConn - A Review
December 8, 2005 | Comments
I thought I would add a few thoughts about Ann Coulter’s “speech” at UConn yesterday, as CNN and the Drudge Report have picked it up. Most people commenting in the blogosphere were not there, so maybe I can add my own review of events here - in no particular order.
The even started about half an [...]

Okay, we got Bloglines, Rojo, Netvibes etc. so who needs another RSS reader - well - ever thought of how out of touch you are while you let nature take its course? What self-respecting geek wouldn’t want RSS on toilet paper?

This is just too beautiful. Just read these statistics from Bridge Ratings:
70% of the total sample listened to music on an MP3 digital music player, with 34% spending more than two hours a day. 21% of those indicate that they are listening to their MP3 players more than they were six months ago.
72% of the [...]

Squidoo Launched - So What?
December 8, 2005 | Comments
Squidoo launched today. I had a quick look at it, so this might not be my definitive review, but can somebody explain to me what the point of this is? Here is an excerpt from the FAQ
1. WHAT’S A LENS?A lens is one person’s (lensmaster’s) view on a topic he cares about. More specifically, a [...]

Looks like everybody fell for this - me included…
SiliconBeat.com has a post clarifying that GCalendar which was to be unveiled at web2.0 is a hoax & Dan Farber has blogged more about Google’s “rumored calendar” at Between The Lines.

Nicholas Kristof has a great op-ed piece on intelligent design and the absolutely inadequate education in the sciences here in the US. It’s a great piece - go get your New York Times Select memebership and read it…

First Google Calendar Evidence
December 6, 2005 | Comments
Stravinsky’s Sizzlin Shack has the first semi-screenshot of the Google Calendar. I am not sure what to think of it. There seems to be some integration with Google Local. Maybe it will have the ability to create community calendars? Town Calendars? This could have some potential. One of the few areas where small local papers [...]

More Glide Reviews
December 6, 2005 | Comments
Michael Arrington went through the same ordeal trying to register for Glide Effortless as I did last week. Once you get to the end of the sign-up process, Glide wants your credit card - badly. Nobody knows why. It just seems like such a stupid idea. Comments on TechCrunch and Slashdot all went in this [...]

Google Calendar Coming Soon?
December 5, 2005 | Comments
Google’s offerings have been hit or miss lately, or, as with Google Analytics, hit and miss (great product, not scaled for full out launch). Now the rumor (who starts these rumors anyway?) is that a calendar application is coming soon. I would love Google to do a good job at this. It definitely represents a [...]

Aeon Flux = Boring
December 2, 2005 | Comments
Given how crappy this movie season has turned out to be, I had high hopes to get some popcorn fun out of Aeon Flux - guess I better wait for King Kong. Here are the last lines from the New York Times review:

Adam Curry - the Wikipedia - and what it all means
December 2, 2005 | Comments
The more I am thinking about the whole Curry Affair, the more I think it is really about Wikipedia more than about Curry himself. We have come to this point, where people look at Wikipedia as an authoritative source of information - which it is simply not. The Curry Affair has brought this into the [...]
