Gilde File Storage
December 1, 2005 |
Traditional media only infrequently writes about Web 2.0 companies, but today the New York Times has a good article on Glide, a rather slick file storage and sharing system. I would try it out, but the article fails to mention one major caveat: you need to give them your credit card information even when signing up for the free service. Now that’s a big no-no.
I went through the process, but stopped right there. The sign-up had already asked me to one of the scrambled-numbers-and-letters-in-a-gif game, asked for my address and now my credit card number? No way. Sorry. Nice try.
