www.live.com is now working with Firefox. I played around with it a little bit and it works just fine - no different from Internet Explorer from what I can see.

What a useless distraction from what seems to be shaping up to be a really important event. Maybe Adam Curry and PodShow are becoming the Microsoft/Google of podcasting. You get to be too big - you sometimes just lose it. The podcasting scene hasbecome very commercial. Lots of people are in it to make money, and PodShowhas the […]

Update 11/22 - 6pm: Just received word from one of my readers - she checked with the local Walmart. I will just copy the email:

I have been reading some of the coverage of the new Pew Internet Poll released today. As I said in my comment earlier, something just didn’t ring true about it. I work with teenagers every day and only one out of twenty keeps a blog; and it has been like that for about the last […]

Pew Internet did a study on teenagers and content creation. Something doesn’t smell right, though. They seem to group weird things together. I would say that putting pictures online is not the same as content creation such as writing stories. Of course everybody puts pictures online these days. Big deal. That doesn’t mean the kids are […]

Today’s Pressing Question: Should Characters Blog?
November 3, 2005 | 1 Comment
Steve Rubel asks if characters should blog. And he isn’t talking about characters like your Uncle Chris, but Jack in the Box, the Hamburgler, maybe the UConn Husky…
Is this really a question? People are actually discussing this now? Come on - there is the looming attention crisis to take care of; global warming; avian flu. […]

Scoble thinks that yesterday’s announcement was not about Windows Live or Office Live. Instead it is about moving Microsoft from an applications company to a servicies company.
Maybe - I am skeptical they can pull it off gracefully. Microsoft is so heavily invested in its […]

Michael Amington of TechCrunch fame has a pretty good review of live.com :
Windows Live is a free, ad-supported AJAX virtual desktop. Most ofthe functionality could be seen in the Microsoft sandbox project calledStart, which we profiled a couple of months ago.
However,Microsoft has added plenty of new […]

Update 11/22: There seems to be some confusion about the price of the laptop these days. I am getting reports of $488 from some, while the Walmart site has a circular announcing it for $378. The two circulars can be found here. The large circular on the right shows $488 on page three, and […]

Office Live is now taking beta applications. Apparently they will go live sometime in early 2006. According to the website:
Today, an online presence is almost a requirement for small business success. That’s why Microsoft is introducing Microsoft® Office Live—a set of affordable business productivity services designed to help you grow your […]

Microsoft just announced its Windows Live beta. With its live.com address becoming the default homepage for IE7 and Windows Vista, it is definitely a page to be reckoned with in the long run.
I just played around with it for a while, and I have to admit, it is better than Google’s personalized homepage service. I could not […]

I just read Seth Godin’s post “Tools vs. Craftsmen.” His observation, I think is basically correct.
If you want to write a book, go ahead. You can write it and typeset at home, and get it professionally printed with no problem. And Amazon will sell it, right next store to Stephen King’s […]
