Dave Winer Got the Memos
November 9, 2005 |
Dave Winer got copies of the Microsoft Memos up on his site . I amsure by now most everybody has seen them. Looks like the BigBrother is indeed getting ready to move into the 21st century. What facinated me themost was the acknowledgement that competition exists. Of course Microsoft has the resources todeal with anybody (in the worst case, by buyin them).
Anyway, welcome to the New World, Microsoft.
Dave has ’several sources inside Microsoft.’ Isn’t that fascinating.
So I pressed several sources inside Microsoft to provide me with copies of the memos and at around 10PM this evening (Pacific time) I got an email containing the memos, with the understanding that I would not name the source. I am absolutely certain that the content is authentic. I took the time to convert them to HTML and do some minor formatting. I have not, at the time of this publication, taken the time to read them. You’re seeing them at the same time that I am.
If anything, it is yet another sign of how the blogosphere is taking more and more roles away from the regular media outlets. Investigative reporting is expensive. Bloggers do it for free and they don’t have to wait until the next morning to see their story in print.
