Adam: Why Fight?

November 8, 2005 |

What a useless distraction from what seems to be shaping up to be a really important event. Maybe Adam Curry and PodShow are becoming the Microsoft/Google of podcasting. You get to be too big - you sometimes just lose it. The podcasting scene hasbecome very commercial. Lots of people are in it to make money, and PodShowhas the most of it.

Check out this article in Wired on Adam Curry and his threat to produce an “un-expo” parallel to the Portable Media Expo in Toronto next weekend:

Some 2,500 attendees and 50 exhibitors from 38 states and 22 nations are expected to turn out for the event, which organizers are billing as the world’s first podcasting convention.

Although Curry plans to attend the show, he has declined to speak atit or sponsor it. And now he is threatening to hold an impromptu”un-expo” at a nearby hotel, where podcasters may be invited to discusspotential promotional deals with his company, PodShow.com, Curryspokesman Aaron Burcell told Wired News on Tuesday.
